Apple Pie Porridge

I love experimenting with porridge, and I especially like designing recipes for porridge which are tasty but taste like a dessert! This recipe is simple, quick, and only uses a few ingredients. You can double or triple the quantities if you’re cooking for a crowd!

Serves 1


  • 40g rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup of water
  • 2/3 cup of milk
  • 1 small apple, diced (grated if you prefer)
  • Small handful of raisins
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Soft brown sugar, to serve


  1. Place all of the ingredients except the sugar into a small saucepan. Stir over low heat for around 8 minutes, or until the porridge has reached your desired consistency and the apple has softened.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and serve with a sprinkling of brown sugar. Enjoy!
