I love experimenting with porridge, and I especially like designing recipes for porridge which are tasty but taste like a dessert! This recipe is simple, quick, and only uses a few ingredients. You can double or triple the quantities if you’re cooking for a crowd!
- 40g rolled oats
- 1/3 cup of water
- 2/3 cup of milk
- 1 small apple, diced (grated if you prefer)
- Small handful of raisins
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Soft brown sugar, to serve
- Place all of the ingredients except the sugar into a small saucepan. Stir over low heat for around 8 minutes, or until the porridge has reached your desired consistency and the apple has softened.
- Transfer to a bowl and serve with a sprinkling of brown sugar. Enjoy!
